What should I expect during my eye examination?

The eye examination consists of vision checks when you will be asked to read from a chart and compare various images but remember good vision starts with healthy eyes, at Duffy's we pride ourselves on the very extensive nature of the eye examination. Using state of the art technology such as digital imaging systems and Ocular Blood Flow measures together with advanced visual field analysis, we strive to establish beyond doubt that your eyes are healthy. Be prepared for the examination to take between 30 and 45 minutes. Some of the procedures we use are not included in the National Health Service Sight Test, but our NHS patients may elect to extend their sight test on payment of a small fee.

The exact procedures during an eye examination vary from patient to patient depending on a number of circumstances such as age, health and any family history of eye disorders (such as glaucoma).
