Duffy’s is a family owned, independent practice that promotes the highest standards of clinical eye care and quality eye wear, yet retains a very friendly atmosphere, providing personal service tailored to individual patient needs.
John and Margaret Duffy
both qualified as optometrists from London’s City University in 1980
and took over a long established practice in Mansfield in 1986. Expansion
to Wollaton occurred in 1995. We aquired the Newark practice of AN & EA Sheldrake
in January 2004 on the retirement of Mr Andrew Sheldrake. Whilst Andrew will
continue to work part time, the practice will be staffed
full time by our associate optometrist, Diane Lee.
Since qualifying, both
have developed areas of specialist interest, Margaret with pre-school children
and John with dyslexia and learning difficulties. Both have demonstrated a
high commitment to continued professional development and John is now an examiner
for the British College of Optometrists.
Their practices are equipped to an extremely high standard to provide both general and specialist optometric services.

To ensure that these high standards are maintained in spectacles dispensed, all lens manufacture and glazing is charged to independent prescription laboratories such as Rodenstock. This guarantees that the latest technology and materials are available from UK, Europe and Japan’s leading companies. Additionally we apply our own strict quality control to all spectacles supplied.

wearing schedule with you, We fit and supply all types of lens from all major
manufacturers, and back this up with comprehensive aftercare - including out
of hours emergency - for successful continued wear.
